The Panasonic AG-CX350 4K Camcorder is designed for what Panasonic is calling the fusion of communication and broadcasting. A compact professional UHD 4K camcorder packed with features that you would expect to find in a full-sized camcorder. The AG-CX350 features a 1″ MOS sensor recording in UHD resolution (3840 x 2160), in the MOV format using a variety of data rates including 400 Mb/s, as well as in HEVC at up to 200 Mb/s. The camcorder can also record HD in MOV, as well as HD/SD in AVCHD format for legacy productions. You can choose from eight different gamma settings including HLG, which provides an HDR output in the camera. It also features variable frame rate capability from 1 to 60 fps in UHD and 1 to 120 fps in HD. Two SD card slots allow for simultaneous, relay, and background recording.

Integrated into the Panasonic AG-CX350 is a 20x optical zoom lens with 32x intelligent zoom. The lens features 5-axis image stabilization and three discrete lens control rings, one each for focus, iris, and zoom. The camcorder supports LANC control via a 2.5mm input port. It features an OLED EVF and a 3.2″ LCD touchscreen monitor, and it has a built-in stereo microphone and two XLR audio connectors. Other connectors include both 3G-SDI and HDMI out (HDMI supports UHD), timecode in/out as well as USB 3.0, USB 2.0, and an Ethernet port for connecting to a network or wired streaming. An optional USB wireless adapter allows you to stream wirelessly.

Panasonic AU-XPD1 P2 Memory Card Drive

The Panasonic AU-XPD1 P2 Memory Card Drive is a compact, single-slot P2 card reader/writer that uses a USB 3.0 interface, which is fast enough to accommodate expressP2 card data transfer rates up to 2.4 Gb/s. It is compatible with P2 and expressP2 memory cards, as well as microP2 cards when using the optional AJ-P2AD1G adapter. Two USB 3.0 ports are provided on the device; one for transferring data and one for powering the device from your computer or an AC adapter. For computers without USB 3.0 support, the device is backwards compatible with USB 2.0.

The AU-XPD1 is only 33 mm (1-5/16″) thick and weighs 280 g (0.62 lbs). It is also relatively inexpensive, and can be used conveniently in the field or on a desktop.

Panasonic Grip Module for VariCam LT

The Grip Module for VariCam LT is a right-sided handgrip and extension arm for shoulder-mounted operation of the VariCam LT digital cinema camera. It attaches to the VariCam’s optional cinema-style or ENG-style shoulder mounts, but will also attach to any shoulder rig or rod support system that features an ARRI standard rosette. The Grip Module includes an ergonomic handgrip and a telescopic arm that extends from approximately 8.3 to 10.4″. The handgrip features a REC start/stop button, iris control dial, and two user-assignable buttons for quick access to frequently used camera functions. Integrated into the grip is an 11″ coiled control cable with a 12-pin Hirose connector to interface with the camera.
